Jane Darke lives and works as a painter and ‘wrecker’ in Porthcothan, Cornwall, her paintings capture scenes of the North Cornwall coastline and catch from the sea. In 2002 she and her partner, playwright Nick Darke, first collaborated on the Radio 4 documentary Dumbstruck about his recovery from a stroke. Their first full length documentary film The Wrecking Season, directed by Jane and finished in 2004, has been bought by BBC 4.
