An award-winning short film about the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, which was produced and directed by Bristol based Liz Crow, will accompany an exhibition of the artist’s work to be held in the Tate Modern.
‘Frida Kahlo’s Corset’ is a short experimental drama that follows a journey of transformation by the painter (1907-1954) who wore a series of orthopaedic corsets because of impairment. The film has won the Picture This Short Film Award and received an Honourable Mention at the Calgary Film Festival.
The film will be screened on 10 July, 7 August, 4 September and 9 October 2005, all at 3pm in the Tate Modern Starr Auditorium. The screenings are free and no bookings will be taken.
