Bristol based hearing and deaf filmmakers Jez Toogood and Samuel Dore are taking their short film 'Not From Where I'm Standing' on tour. It will be screened at the Clin D'Oeil festival in France from 1 to 3 July in the Best European Deaf Short Film competition, and goes to Sheffield 30 June until 9 July for the 'Films 4 Lives' festival. It will compete in the UNICEF UK Award for films on the theme of Human Rights. 'Not From Where I'm Standing' tells the tale of a sign language interpreter who wilfully misinterprets a deaf man to cover up his own misdemeanour, with the results becoming increasingly embarrassing! www.clindoeil.cinesourds.fr/article.php3?id_article=51 |
