We are looking for a Bristol based (or nearby) male actor for a ‘one man show’ 90 second film to be made by members of the BBC Bristol Film Club. Filming will take place over one day during the last 2 weeks of April (date still-to-be confirmed) and the film will be entered into a local film festival in the autumn. It is to be shot on Super 16mm film but will be mute so there will be no dialogue. It is a lo-no budget production so unfortunately a fee cannot be paid - minimal travel expenses, lunch and a copy of the film will be provided. The working title of the film is 'To love a lost one' and is about a man who tries to say goodbye to his wife who has passed away. He experiences, for the first time, being apart from her on their wedding anniversary. The sole character we are looking for will be aged 50-70 (nationality / ethnicity is not important). He will be dressed in a suit, wear a wedding ring and will perform the following tasks:
- write in a wedding anniversary card at a kitchen table
- carry a photo of his wife with him into a restaurant and order two meals
- pour a glass of wine & raise a toast to the photo
- drunkenly stumble home with the photo
- drunkenly dance with the photo to music playing from a record player
- sit up in bed, place the photo in a drawer & blow out a candle
A brief casting session will be held the second week after Easter in Bristol. Please send photo and CV
