Fourdocs 4 Sheffield competition shortlist announcedThe first round of voting in the FourDocs4Sheffield competition has taken place and after much debate, we've narrowed down all the uploads to FourDocs from the last year to 17 brilliant docs (so yes, it's a pretty long shortlist). And we'd love your views on them. There's films there for all tastes, including the following subjects: Gangsters, Jazz, Strippers, Cars, Routemasters, Lebanon, Boxing, Antifolk, Minis, Suburbia, Cymbals, Glass Eyes, Poetry, Gambling, Skateboarding, Toy Shops and Belly Dancing Thanks to all of you for contributing to FourDocs over the last year, whether you've been nominated or not. And keep uploading your films to us - this is by no means the last prestigious competition we'll be running. The winners from the shortlist will be decided by a panel of three - Roger Graef, documentary-maker extraordinaire; Patrick Uden, Executive Editor of FourDocs; and Kate Vogel, the commissioning editor for the Three Minute Wonder strand on Channel Four. As you may remember, the winners will get shown as a Three Minute Wonder on C4, as well as participating in the Sheffield Documentary Festival and being screened there at loads of different events. We'll be announcing the four finalists on Friday September 29th. To see the full shortlist and watch the films, go here - www.channel4.com/fourdocs/articles/sheffwinners.html . And once you've watched and pondered, we'd love to hear your thoughts. You can post a review on the individual film pages or join in the hullabaloo on the FourDocs forum community.channel4.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/3790043115 . And soon we'll be giving you the opportunity to vote for your favourite, so make a note of who you're backing. And of course, if you don't have a favourite, you can always upload your own work of genius to us. Get yourself to www.channel4.com/fourdocs and show off |
