Young people from the South West to attend talent scheme at Edinburgh Thirteen young people from the South West are among the 150 delegates picked from over 2,000 applicants to attend Television and Young People (TVYP), the prestigious free five day course held alongside the Edinburgh TV Festival this August bank holiday. The scheme is aimed at helping young people aged 18 - 21 with a passion for TV gain a foothold in the notoriously competitive industry. Television and Young People gives delegates the opportunity over five days to meet and learn from key industry figures - speakers this year include presenter Vernon Kay, news anchor Sir Trevor McDonald and Jana Bennett, Director of Television at the BBC. |
