European Funding up for grabs

Two new schemes are opening the door to funding from the European Commission for projects in the audiovisual industries.

The Media Training Scheme is aimed at improving vocational skills of audiovisual professionals, helping them compete within and beyond Europe. The Commission will pay up to 60% of the costs for projects lasting no more than 24 months.
Applications to this scheme need to be in by 1 March 2005.

Meanwhile, the International Distribution Funding scheme is aimed at facilitating the development, distribution and promotion of European audiovisual works.
In this instance, the Commission will pay up to 150,000 Euros per company or up to half of project costs. The deadline under this scheme is 25 February 2005.
