EM Media (the initials stand for East Midlands) is one of nine regional screen
agencies that form part of Screen England and is the media development agency
for the East Midlands region of the UK, incorporating Derbyshire, Leicestershire,
Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.
Founded in 2002, it is funded by the UK Film Council, the European Regional
Development Agency, the East Midlands Development Agency and Culture East
Midlands.
East Midlands Media's aim is to support enjoyment and understanding of the
media as much as it is to develop local talent, attract location shoots and
build a sustainable and dynamic media sector in the East Midlands.
Using lottery money, it provides support for feature films, screenwriting,
the production of short feature films and TV programmes, and the development
of low-budget feature films.
Applicant individual and companies must be based in the East Midlands and
not more than a third of a project's cost will be funded. Prior communication
with EM Media before application is strongly advised.
Maximum aid levels:
£250,000 (feature films)
£25,000 (slates)
£15,000 (individual projects)
£5,000 (individual applicants)
