The CMF Show Reel - showreels wanted Cornwall

The CMF Show Reel

Cornwall Media Focus has contracted Tom Harding at AV3 to produce a Cluster Show Reel for the Internet and accompanying DVDs to promote the work of CMF members.  The Show Reel will be hosted on the University College Falmouth JANET server and thus the Show Reels will be accessible from anywhere in the world, with links to member profiles (Cornwall Film Production Guide), CVs and members’ own websites.  The Show Reels will be streamed from the server with CMF branding, thus reducing considerably any risk of third parties re-directing the work.  The DVDs will be used to help generate work as well as promote existing work of CMF members.  This service will be provided to you, the members, at NO COST.

There will be a quality threshold; the Show Reels must be of professional standard, clearly demonstrating YOUR input to the work and you will need to obtain all relevant permissions to display the work contained within them.

To get your Show Reel included in the CMF Show Reel please:

Submit a (clearly labelled) tape up to 2 minutes in length, originating on DV or DVCAM. (to c/o Cornwall Film, 73 Lemon Street, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 1EA.)

Submit a members’ profile (Please go to the Cornwall Film website www.cornwallfilm.com and follow the instructions to submit a NEW ENTRY, or update, your profile on the Cornwall Film Production Guide – then just send us a link to your page):

Submit a CV: (pdf preferred, by email to joan@cornwallmediafocus.co.uk )

NB:  If you currently don’t have a Show Reel, or would like advice on how to compile one that really shows your work off to its best advantage, Cornwall Media Focus will be hosting a special event later in the year to take you through the process.

People who might benefit from having an accessible showreel might include:

A cameraperson, animator, director, make up artist, production designer, production company,  etc. etc.

Please submit your Show Reel as soon as possible.  The absolute deadlines for submission are: 1st April, 2006 and 1st September, 2006.  There is a limit to the number of Show Reels we will be able to accept, so I strongly advise you aim to submit your work by the first deadline, if at all possible.
