Founded in 2004, Max10 is a monthly event and platform which aims to support artist’s work across a broad range of media with particular focus on experimental projects using moving image, audio-visual, digital media, and sonic arts.

Our philosophy for max10 is to be inclusive and encourage artists from all stages of their careers to participate in the events. Max10 promotes a democratic, open & supportative environment which we believe has the potential to really support and develop artists approaches, sensibilities and careers.

The 'open' format of max10 aims to facilitate the development of experimental new ideas. We encourage artists to participate through testing new work at all stages of production, from early project inception through to fully realised projects. We will support proposals for installation / multi-screen projects whenever possible. We believe this ‘test bed’ structure provides a crucial platform for the development towards a rigorous artistic practice. Feedback from participants has been very positive about this aspect, and it is something we will continue to build upon.

Max10 events provide an invaluable resource, in particular for artists working in the sw region, as there are few opportunities to regularly test & display experimental projects in moving image, digital media, and sonic arts. It also has facilitated the development of network of artists, which grows at each event. We hope this will contribute to and open up new intellectual resources for the arts here in the region.
