The Louise T Blouin FoundationThe Louise T. Blouin Foundation is a new philanthropic agency working internationally in the field of cultural development. It aims to generate and disseminate new knowledge about the art and science of creativity. It will analyse and celebrate the many ways in which the human brain gives birth to new ideas, new works of art and new directions for our social, cultural and commercial development. It will support and promote inter-disciplinary research, experimentation and education in the pursuit of international enlightenment, communication and prosperity. Much of the Foundation’s work will have an educational mission – seeking to open up the arts to all. They will support the pursuit of new discoveries about how children learn in general, how they can learn to enjoy the arts in particular and how they might develop the confidence and motivation to become practitioners, consumers or purchasers. The emphasis is on replicable models. The first awards honoured exceptional contributions to arts and the science of creativity and included sculptors and theatre directors.
