The Gatsby Trust funds under nine main headings, the arts being o­ne of them. However there is currently no budget left in this programme. They also fund under the heading of “Technical Education”; To support improvement in educational opportunity in the UK for a workforce which can better apply technology for wealth creation; and to encourage effective technology transfer from universities and other research centres to productive industry."

The Trustees seek to achieve this aim through programmes that include:

• to encourage good teaching and good materials in schools in mathematics, science and technology as an essential prerequisite to the health of the manufacturing base;
• to encourage appropriate IT development which will enhance mathematics, science and technology in schools;

Application Procedure

The Foundation warns that o­nly a small number of unsolicited applications are successful.

Send a brief description of the proposed project covering

• Why the project is needed
• How, where, when the project will be delivered
• Who will benefit and in what way
• Income and expenditure budget
• Details of funding - secured, applied for
• Description of the organisation

Do not send any more than 2-4 sides of A4 when applying to the trust.
