UK funding for broadcast, film, video, interactive media and photo imaging - Skill Set – Freelance Training Fund

Skill Set – Freelance Training Fund

Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries (broadcast, film, video, interactive media and photo imaging). It is supported by industry, Government and the National Lottery. The Skillset Freelance Training Fund makes grants to organisations and individuals to attend training and development activities that will benefit the UK broadcast industry (supported by employers and administered by PACT). The Skillset Film Skills Fund supports the delivery of A Bigger Future – The UK Film Skills Strategy (You can download this from Skillset or UK Film Council website). It makes grants to organisations and individuals to deliver, facilitate or attend film specific training.

To be eligible to deliver training funded by Skillset, organisations need to meet certain industry standards.  Skillset provides funding through Skillset Investment Funds for support and development for training providers. You have to be an approved supplier to receive funding to deliver training under the freelance training fund. Skillset is piloting accreditation and approvals for training providers and individual courses which recognise organisations for offering industry-relevant training.
