Big Lottery Young People’s Fund (Organisations)

This fund makes grants to voluntary and community groups to run local projects. The emphasis is o­n placing young people at the centre of planning and delivering projects. Outcomes are based o­n the Green Paper Every Child Matters. Activities need to achieve two or more of the following:

  • Being healthy: enjoying good physical and mental health and living a healthy lifestyle
  • Staying safe: being protected from harm and neglect and growing up able to look after themselves
  • Enjoying and achieving: getting the most out of life and developing the skills for adulthood
  • Making a positive contribution: to the community and to society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour.
  • Economic well-being: overcoming socio-economic disadvantages to achieve their full potential in life.

Grant value: maximum of £150,000 over 3 years, although average grant size likely to be £75,000.

Application Procedure
 
This is a rolling programme. First stage is outline proposal and BLF gets back within 10 days. If approved, full application made within 3 months and assessed within 3 months.
