Name: Matt Chandler and Alex Burton Age: We are both 24 Profession: Professionally, Matt is a freelance 3D CG effects artist and Alex is a git. And we both professionally run Buckshot and Chin Incorporated of course. What did you want to be at school? We both always wanted to work within media, although at the time perhaps not anything specific. Films and broadcast always made the biggest impression and we were always watching movies. How did you start out? Persistence, enthusiasm and a healthy portion of luck of course. Not forgetting talent……talent is important too. If you are genuinely crap, you really aren’t going to have a chance. Saying that, there’s an awful amount of crap out there – so don’t listen to us. What professional training or education did you receive? We both went to University and got degrees in something. Alex has a BA (Hons) in Media and Cultural Studies and Matt has a BA (Hons) in Modelmaking and special effects. What or who are your main inspirations? The list is endless. Sometimes you’re not even aware you are being influenced by who and what is around you. Horror movies of course – ‘The Evil Dead’, ‘Friday 13th collection’, ‘Prince of Darkness’, ‘Hellraiser’. Lots of science fiction too – ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Predator’, ‘Aliens’ and so on. Literature is a powerful influence as well. What achievement are you most proud of? That we got our company started and we can start working towards our goals. What is your most embarrassing moment? We were both caught selling our bodies to fund our next project. Selling body parts we mean. Alex has no lungs. What are your main ambitions for the future? To make Buckshot and Chin Inc a known and respected company and the studios to be spread over 90 acres. One piece of advice for young people? Just say no. Professional credits….. Matt’s worked on a few computer games and is currently working on some visual effects for Chilli Media. Alex has worked on a number of short films both behind and in front of the camera. Not forgetting our own work of course.
