Screen Yorkshire
Founded in 2003, Screen Yorkshire aims to develop the film, broadcast, computer games and digital media industries in Yorkshire. Stress is laid on both inward investment potential and cultural objectives. Screen Yorkshire is supported by regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, and covers the Yorkshire and Humberside regions of north-eastern England.
The Screen Yorkshire Production Fund is designed to provide support for feature films, documentaries, television programmes, animation, short films and interactive media.
Funding criteria are clearly slanted towards commercial viability and, although television projects must normally come from regional broadcasters, there is no residency requirement for feature-film applications. Other criteria for eligibility are extensive, and discussion with Screen Yorkshire prior to application is all but mandatory.
Screen Yorkshire also supports business development, training, education and exhibition
