Screen West Midlands
Created in 2001, Screen West Midlands is the regional agency for all screen media in the West Midlands - an area incorporating Birmingham and the Black Country, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
It provides support for production, education, exhibition, training and local archives, and also aims to encourage all forms of productions to shoot in the West Midlands.
Production aid currently consists of two short-film initiatives: First Cut, supported by Carlton Television; and a Digital Shorts scheme funded by the UK Film Council through the National Lottery. Plans for funding script development and feature-film production are under discussion and are expected to be announced before the end of the year
