Northern Film & Media
Launched in November 2002, Northern Film & Media is the screen agency for the North East of England. Its stated aims are to "build a vibrant and sustainable film, media and digital content industry in the North of England". The focus is on regional talent, generating employment and promoting creativity in film, broadcast, video, new media and other forms of digital content.
Northern Film & Media provides support for career development; script development, production (albeit on a limited scale) and post-production; company development; and exhibition. It also seeks to encourage production in the North East.
Maximum aid levels:
£5,000 (individual career development)
£10,000 (organisations encouraging career development; script development,
production and post-production for individuals)
£40,000 (script development, production and post-production for companies
and organisations)
