Fresh Six Co-ordinator
Fresh Film is looking for a co-ordinator to oversee the running of the Fresh Six Young People’s Film Festival which runs from November 9-11th in Bristol.
Fresh Six is the young people’s film and digital media festival for Bristol, Bath and the South West. Last year’s Fresh Five event was attended by delegates from all over the region and beyond. This year the festival is led by young people through Fresh Film and supported by an executive committee made up from local community media companies (Calling The Shots, Creative Partnerships, Firstborn Creatives, Knowle West Media Centre and Suited and Booted Studios).
The successful candidate should be self-motivated, a good communicator and possess a good knowledge of the young people’s media sector across Bristol, Bath and the South West. They should have experience of coordinating events and some practical knowledge of working with young people.
Job description
- To liaise with the Fresh Film executive committee to develop the festival programme
- To identify organisations in Bristol, Bath and the South West to deliver strands for the festival programme
- To support those organisations to deliver those strands
- To coordinate publicity and marketing for the festival
- To help raise additional funds for the festival
- To deliver and run a competition for the Best Of The South West films judged by young people
- To update the website regularly
- To file regular bulletins to young people and organisations involved
- To liaise and organise venues for the festival
- To network with other organisations to further the development of a South West young people’s film making network.
Aims and Objectives
- To encourage the use of young people-led groups within those organisations commissioned to run strands for the festival
- To liaise with members of the executive committee regularly
- To consult young people in so far as possible in delivering the festiva;l.
6 days initially at £200 per day with continuation dependant on funding.
