As part of Inclusion Through Media, Hi8us Projects Ltd. is looking for a media professional to develop media production activity with young people in Cornwall, mainly 16+ or those who have been failed by mainstream education and training in Cornwall. Please download the full job description here.
The post is part of Hi8us Project's £6.5m Inclusion Through Media programme (ITM) running from 2005 - 2007 and will be developed in partnership with Creative Partnerships Cornwall and Cornwall Film. The aim is to explore the possibility of establishing Hi8us Cornwall as part of the Hi8us network. The postholder will work to a specific steering group comprising Cornwall Film, Creative Partnerships and Hi8us Projects.
The primary aims of the post are:
- To explore how production work with excluded young people can be developed in Cornwall with an aim to open up progression routes into the media industry and / or enable YP to create their own opportunities and enterprises
- To explore how this work can be young person led wherever possible
- To identify prospective projects and partners
- To secure funding to realise projects
- To oversee the delivery of projects
To lay the foundations for the development of Hi8us Cornwall by building on the success of CP and CF work locally, Hi8us's work nationally and internationally and joining up the partners' already successfully developed networks.
To build the capacity of the media sector in Cornwall by facilitating opportunities for local media businesses and new talent to work together
