The department, which is responsible for a wide range of output including Antiques Roadshow, Seaside Rescue, Bargain Hunt, Ray Mears and Timeshift, is looking for experienced researchers to work within its production teams to produce exciting factual programming.

The successful candidate will have good experience of researching for factual network television, be an excellent team player and preferably be confident in operating DV for recce or broadcast. Additionally you will need an understanding of what makes a great contributor and be experienced in finding locations for filming, be able to demonstrate good editorial judgement and be confident in presenting ideas.

Responsible to Series Producer via Producer/Director & Production Manager

Aim of the job 

• To contribute to the output of General Factual by working as part of a production team and taking responsibility for specific programmes or sections of programmes.
• To provide support to producers and other programme staff by undertaking broadly based independent research into any subject or issue relevant to the programmes.
• To evaluate information and material and present it to the producer in an appropriate form.
• To assist in assembling and processing programme material including scripting, logging and digitising rushes. To work with presenters and contributors o­n location both for filming and recces. To assist in general programme duties as required.
