Wildscreen - call for entries
Wildscreen, the world’s largest and most prestigious international wildlife and environmental film festival, has just announced the Call for Entries for its coveted Panda Awards, the wildlife and environmental equivalent of the Oscars. The festival will take place between 15 –20 October 2006 in Bristol and will celebrate and reward the finest wildlife and environmental films in the world. The twenty Panda Awards cover subjects as diverse as animal behaviour, campaigning and Earth sciences and skills such as cinematography, editing, sound and script. Winning an award at Wildscreen is recognised as the highest accolade wildlife, conservation or environmental productions can achieve, and commands world-wide attention.
This year Wildscreen has two new prizes that are aimed at encouraging new filmmakers into the industry. The winner of the BBC Newcomer Award will have the opportunity of mentoring and a work experience placement with the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol and the winner of Wildscreen's Award to promote filmmakers from developing countries will receive a cash prize to support their ongoing filmmaking projects. Details of all Panda Award categories, entry requirements and up to date information on the Festival are available via the link below.
