Cornwall Film wants Script Editors
Cornwall Film is looking for experienced Script Editors to work with writers on UPRISING our low budget drama development scheme.
All project activity will take place in Cornwall.
Script Editors - UPRISING
UPRISING is an holistic, supported and Cornwall-specific approach to low budget drama development with links to the wider industry. Uprising will develop low budget drama expertise, initially in screenwriting we want to get more of the fantastic Cornish stories we know are out there up on screen. The stories selected for the scheme will need to take full advantage of being made digitally, at a low budget i.e. limited locations, characters, stunts etc.
Cornwall Film is looking for Script Editors to help deliver a unique opportunity for Cornwall resident writers to access specialist support. Editors will bring experience of working on low budget drama screenplays these can be for features, TV one-offs, or TV series. They will demonstrate an ability to work well with both emerging and experienced writing talent, and to develop drama projects within a market context.
Up to six Screenwriters will be selected for the first stage of Uprising. Script Editors will need to be available to attend a three day specialist screenwriting course with the selected writers in early February 2006 (probably Friday 3rd Sunday 5th February).
Script Editors will support the writers to develop a step outline and first draft by the end of March 2006. Cornwall Film will be able to offer Script Editors a fee of £750 per project.
Up to three of the Screenwriters will then be selected to progress to second draft, again with the support of a Script Editor, to be delivered in mid May. Three Directors will be attached to the projects in April to inform the development process and will feed into the script development process in meetings with the writer and Script Editor. Cornwall Film will again be able to offer Script Editors a fee of £750 per project.
