Big Lottery Young People’s Fund (Organisations)
This fund makes grants to voluntary and community groups to run local projects. The emphasis is on placing young people at the centre of planning and delivering projects. Outcomes are based on the Green Paper Every Child Matters. Activities need to achieve two or more of the following:
- Being healthy: enjoying good physical and mental health and living a healthy lifestyle
- Staying safe: being protected from harm and neglect and growing up able to look after themselves
- Enjoying and achieving: getting the most out of life and developing the skills for adulthood
- Making a positive contribution: to the community and to society and not engaging in anti-social or offending behaviour.
- Economic well-being: overcoming socio-economic disadvantages to achieve their full potential in life.
Grant value: maximum of £150,000 over 3 years, although average grant size likely to be £75,000.

This is a rolling programme. First stage is outline proposal and BLF gets back within 10 days. If approved, full application made within 3 months and assessed within 3 months.
