Would you like to make a film in Cornish?
The Govynn Kernewek Award gives filmmakers in Cornwall the chance to make a film in the Cornish language. It is a cash award (last year this was £5,000) and the winner will also receive help in translating the script and will work with mentors throughout the filmmaking process.
If you are interested in submitting an idea you will need to provide a one-page proposal along with your CV, a showreel and a budget for the project - the deadline for submissions is 31 October. The filmmakers who are shortlisted will then be required to present a pitch and answer questions at an event during the Cornwall Film Festival. The audience and a panel will vote to select the winner. For more details on how to submit an idea please see the forum section of the Cornwall Film Festival website.
