Head of business and skills development - South West Screen - £29,000-£38,000
Reporting to the Director of Development, this post will work with partners and stakeholders to further the achievement of South West Screen’s stated aims and objectives. A key member of the Business & Skills Development team the role will work proactively to create a strong and sustainable infrastructure for the film, television and digital media industries in the South West of England.
To improve the competitiveness of the film, television and digital media businesses in the South West by leading the development and implementation of an industry-led strategy for the sector. This strategy will specifically address issues of skills development and business support and opportunity with the objective of securing the human, physical and commercial environment in which the sector can flourish.
The HoBSD will provide the main point of contact between South West Screen and the wider industry on issues relating to Business & Skills, liaising with all interested parties from freelancers to independent production companies to broadcasters, national skills funding organisations to Universities to graduates. He/she will be expected to identify the most effective points and formats of intervention for South West Screen and, working with the Business & Skills team, define projects, secure funding and support, engage partners, formulate delivery plans and ensure successful outcomes.
