Update  - Young Peoples Film Festival event

18th November 2005, Falmouth

Since 2003, the first day of the Cornwall Film Festival has become the young people’s festival. In the past this has included screening work made by young filmmakers across Cornwall and giving them the opportunity to view and discuss their work in a professional environment. This year the festival is to be run entirely by Falmouth, Mullion and Newquay Tretherras schools. The best way to get involved is to make a film and enter it into the festival – this is an opportunity for young people’s ideas to shine.

The deadline for entry this year is 16th August, visit www.cornwallfilmfestival.com to download an application form. Lucy Frears the director is willing to negotiate final delivery of films from schools and young people, but the application form must be filled in and submitted for this date. Any queries please contact Lucy on 01326 253 690.

Even if you don’t submit a film you can come and take part in the event on 18th November at Falmouth Arts Centre. This will be free of charge though booking will be necessary. Visit www.cornwallfilmfestival.com for details on how to book nearer the time. School groups and individuals welcome!

You can find help and resources for making your own film under the Learning section of this site. Keep your eye on the flicKerNOW and Cornwall Film Festival websites for full programme and Young People’s event details.
