An opportunity for young people to screen their films on the BBC
BBC programme Blast has approached Creative Partnerships ' national office with a view to Creative Partnerships contributing to a showcase of feature films made by 13-19 year olds. The films could focus on everything from video to dance to music to art to animation.
Last year films submitted by Creative Partnerships Durham and Sunderland were used in a programme titled Digital Creativity Across the Curriculum, broadcast on BBC Two in the Learning Zone.
Creative Partnerships National Office would act as a conduit to the BBC but we would encourage the development of independent relationships between BBC Blast and individual Creative Partnerships regions.
Copies of films should be submitted to Garfield Myrie, Press Officer, Creative Partnerships, London. SW1P 3NQ together with a consent form which can be downloaded from the Blast website .
Films should be submitted by the end of August. Films will not be returned. No previously submitted films should be supplied
Laia Gasch from BBC Blasts says:
Blast offers a unique showcase of young people's creativity both online and on national television. The criteria for the selection of the films is a follows:
1. It's about their ideas! Films must be made by young people by or/and be the idea of young people
2. work by 13 to 19 year olds.
3. we're looking for innovation, fresh approaches and personal styles, not necessarily technical skills - (although we will reject films who do not meet a certain standard of sound quality!)
4. must submit consent form with information about use of music and other artists material for copyright purposes.
In the past, Blast has received and showcased many films from Creative Partnerships and we look forward to continue to receive the work that young people have achieved as a result of being involved in the range of projects Creative Partnerships encourages and supports across the country.
