Film archives in the UK
There are a number of film archives in the British Isles. As well as being an invaluable resourse for filmmakers these archives will also be of interest to all those who seek to expand their understanding of film and moving image.

National Film and Television Archive at the British Film Institute
Imperial War Museum Film and Video Archive - For film of conflicts involving forces from Britain and the Commonwealth
The ITN Archive holds some 120,000 hours of material covering ITN's television news broadcasts from 1955, and the Reuters Television library of cinema newsreel material (Gaumont-British News, Gaumont Graphic, British Paramount News, Universal News and others) going back to 1896.
