R O O M is an artist run space in the centre of Bristol,on the ground floor of an eco house. It was built as an artist/architect collaboration. It is a 300 square metre contemporary building made of sustainable materials and using solar energy. From the upstairs window there are views of water and the docks and from the other side, Ashton Court and countryside in the distance. The double front door leads through a spacious hallway into a large room with double height at either end. There are large windows and a great deal of natural light with minimal furniture, although the room can be used in a flexible way and be divided up to include dark spaces. Double doors lead our onto the courtyard with flagstones and gravel, facing due west. |
