| Penwith Film Society members enjoy three seasons every year, from Autumn into early Summer, when the Society takes a break to enjoy the sun while the Savoy caters for the heavy influx of holiday makers. Annual membership at a modest £7.50 entitles a member admission at a discount of £1.50 ticket. Non-members are of course very welcome. For an application form go to the Film Society website. Recently released films are shown in the Savoy cinema Penzance, and also in other Cornish cinemas in the Merlin chain when feasible. The classics and art house movies are represented by screenings at the Acorn in Penzance, predominantly shown on DVD. During the late Summer, in conjunction with the Acorn, we put on a couple of "Films in the Park", al-fresco viewing, and a real delight. |
