2004's electricdecember.org fine-tunes and focuses on what the online advent calendar is really about - the core principles of collaboration, innovation, the creative process and creative learning - as the relationship develops between Bristol's Watershed Media Centre and Creative Partnerships Cornwall & Plymouth.
Gifts created by nine exciting partnerships from Cornwall and Plymouth are exhibited alongside those from Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Gloucester, and are based in 2004 on the inspiring theme of 'transformation'. Sparking some diverse, delightful and downright weird ideas that range from a 'magical changing booth' in Mr Ben style, to a fishing game where you can catch Year 5 kid-fish 'creatures' in a 'school' of lobsters, sharks and mermaids, this project is a real reflection of the talent and creativity in the region.
The evidence is live online from December 1st 2004 at www.electricdecember.org, with launches in Bristol and Cornwall, Cornwall's event hosted at the space-age Classroom of the Future (the CPR Learning Space) in Camborne, and Bristol's held at the Watershed itself.
A live broadband link between the two sites connects school children from both areas, deepening the sense of collaborative and creative working across the whole of the south west and boosting the young people's confidence and self esteem. Reaching a considerable worldwide audience during December and beyond, the online gifts attract visitors from over 60 countries.
