Following the recent success of Media Centre for Cornwall’s Eat Shoot and Leave, Cornwall Film is delighted to announce the return of Hollywood screen guru Mark Travis.

Mark will be holding a one day workshop on Directing and Writing with Actors to take place in Penzance on 29th January 2007. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in film to learn from one of the world’s best acting and directing experts. To book a place, contact Kathy at Cornwall Film on 01872 240900.

The workshop will take place at The Seaside Room, adjacent to the Chapel Street Methodist Church, Chapel Street, (behind the Centenary Hall), Penzance – the venue will be signposted from Chapel Street as it’s not that easy to find! - Monday 29 January 2007 from 9.30 – 5.30.

Cornwall Film is subsidising the cost of attendance for Cornish practitioners, and consequently the cost of the workshop is only £15.

Pippa Best, Project Director at Cornwall Film, says “Mark’s workshops in 2005 so inspired local actors, writers and directors that we were inundated with requests to bring him back from LA. We’re thrilled to be working with Media Centre for Cornwall in delivering this great opportunity for the sector.”

Mark has delivered workshops all over the world, including The American Film Institute, Hollywood Film Institute; Japan's Film & Media Lab; London's Raindance Institute; and the Berlin and Munich Film Schools.  He has directed over 60 theatre productions in Los Angeles and New York and received over 20 theatre directing awards. He has directed numerous feature films and documentaries and author, his most recent book being The Director's Journey: a Los Angeles Times #1 Best Seller – (the second edition of which is now on release).
