Antonio (Irons) borrows money from Shylock to help his young friend Bassanio (Fiennes) in his quest to win the hand of the fair Portia (Collins). Bitter at Antonio's insults, Shylock stipulates very specific terms if he defaults on the loan. With a fantastic cast including the best of British acting talent and the amazing Pacino, whose love of Shakespeare is well known, this is a must see. |
